Summer Rain
Summer raindrops fall
in sunbeams and starlight,
sparkling kisses upon
the wildflower´s face,
to awaken with the grace of life.
cleansing the summer dust
from butterfies wings,
that rise and float
over Earth´s watered garden
and the parched voices
of birds that sing.
Bearers of sweet music
for the dusty hills and fields,
to soften the flail of hail
that the darkening sky wields.
After the rainfall comes the jolly sun
and the sky takes off its grey hat and bows
celebrates with rainbow streamers
the new light and growth,
and bathes the Earth and air in glorious
shine and golden glows.

Just...a beautiful write Tony ?
Hi Marion, hope you are very well. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on this poem, much appreciated. I think it was wishful thinking when I wrote it as it´s 40º C where I live at the moment and hasn´t rained for months! :) Thank you! x
No...it's all coming to Wales!!!???
????. And England!
Lol ???
Absolutely beautiful! We often moan about the rain but it is much needed after a long dry spell. As with all your work, Tony, this is soooo well written x
Hi Being Me, I hope that you are very well. Thank you for your very kind words and appraisal of my work. Yes I agree, I don´t think we appreciate the importance of rain, especially if you live in warmer climes. Water is life!
:) Always very pleased to read your comments. Thank you! x
You are very welcome, your work is always a pleasure to read and I apologise if I inadvertently miss any x
