Poem -

A summers night

A summers night was originally intended to be performed, it is best when read aloud or in your head

on a summers night i ask you to...
Imagine
if you will..
a still,
and chill,
summers night

not so chill as winter
but still bitter
in its own right

Now i might excite you to say that monsters roam it..
but they are just the homeless

Gruff men rumbling under their breath about how it is So Unfair
that despair..
should only be lain on those who suffer
that the only men who need to cry are those with tears taped o-ver their eyes
and pictures of scars tattooed on their hearts
That the only ones who need feel a summers chill
are those who sleep in filth almost every night

one might

begin to see a problem
and while this thought may never be carried to conversation
we try to tip the scales

to Balance---The----Equation

We say everything happens for a reason

......it's a lie

but one we feel needs telling
a lie our minds need to be of ease
it is a Yawn Worth Yelling
We are -SO- tired now
of constantly pretending
that some resort to blades and pretend that they are ending

it seems so silly

but we believe that it will feel a little MORE real
That it will give us a little MORE to heal
that it will be a stronger excuse...
to counter not deserving what we feel

this feeling sticks to us like gum on a shoe
one we could easily remove
if we could stand to touch it

and so...
on this still and chill summers night
where life is nothing like the homeless said
     we stay here
no blankets
no sheets

on summers nights

we hate our beds
