Summertime nights

Driving along,

Across the Orwell bridge,

Overlooking our hometown of Ipswich,

With the most amazing summer nights sky.

Looking out to the horizon,

It’s like an ocean,

 beautification on the eye.

A mixture of orange,

yellows,

Purple,

White and blues.

The most majestic desert,

Way up high.

As day turns into night,

A summer cast,

Veiling the moon tonight.

Leaving a thin crescent,

Of pure bliss and delight.

If you look hard enough,

You can make out the dark side,

Where it’s freezing cold and the most minimal of dim light.

I love the magic of a summers moon,

Setting a scene,

Most serene.

Not bright like winter, 

Lighting up the glow from the moons shine,

Upon Jack frosts ice and snow.

But that’s not what I mean.

I love the longer days,

Seemingly heat,

From the moons,

Nighttime glow.

Even without the sun.

We still get some sort of heat,

When in the night,

Moonshine makes a show.

Taking over from the day,

Now it’s time to give the night another go.

I just love our ever changing moon through summertime.

I thought it would be nice,

To let you all know.
