SUNSET AT LANDAU BEACH

It was time to travel again to where you didn't
want to go, how many times I'd been there so slow,
we had made love like there had been no tomorrow,
it had been like assessing a golf shot, a good lie, no borrow.

Then you were lazy, stretched outside when it was hazy,
said that you had to go, otherwise he'd want to know,
where you were, who you'd been with, who you'd screwed,
you had to lie, tell him that he was bloody rude.

I stood and watched as you walked thro' the trees,
called after you but you were already planning your story,
we could move the stars, dance a little, rewrite history,
you waved as you faded and then blended distantly.

I put my fingers to my lips, where you had been,
they were damp and scented with memories in between.
