Sunshine in the winter

They say imagination is good, right?

Sunshine in the winter

When I was ten years old, I lost my first friend.
She promised me with her pinky finger : " I'll be there" and after midnight disappeared.
Failed for the first time math and became insecure about my teeth.
I remember how granny gently stroke my hairĀ
And dad screamed at me, because I always looked too sad.

When I was thirteen years old, I started wearing more black
Getting pimples on my forehead and all my classmates started looking weird at me.
Was doing math just to please my mom,who wanted to meet with my friendsĀ
If only she knew that they all left.

When I was fifteen, I got my first kiss, he was touching my back while his girlfriend was calling him.
Not sure if I was crying the whole night, but next day shower didn't help me to feel clean.
More math and fake friends. At this point, numbers became closer to me than them.
Needed to think more about my future, but it's hardĀ  when everyone around you is thinking about smoking weed.

When I was seventeen, I realized how many lies we hear everyday.
He said he loves fashion, but he's dressing up like everyone else.
She told me she'll help me,but now she doesn't even read my texts.
Stopped waiting to much for answers and just minding my own businessĀ
Math was still a burden, but they say your future needs it.

When everything was simple.When I was...simple.
