supermarket angst

Aisles swarm,
Carts clash,
My blood boils,
Teeth gnash.

Chaos reigns,
Disdain chains.
Checkout lines,
An endless wait,

Price tags leer,
Mocking stares,
Cupboards bare.
In retail's trap,

Suffocated
By the crowd,
Their ignorance
Loud and proud.

I'm seething,
A silent scream,
In this supermarket,
A fevered dream.

Patience?
Thinned to naught.
Temper?
A flash, hot.

Anger found.
I stand my ground,
I gasp for air.
Retail nightmare,
