Sway

Given a finger to flick at others
Youd drag it along after you
Like a weight the world dropped
And given strength to face the world
Youd question why you were given such power to punch;
With few targets aside yourself
Given a dream
You'd fret the differences between this and when you aren't asleep
And given a heart to keep
Youd wonder why you must keep it
Why doesnt it simply stay?
always moving away
And that is how you make sense of it
Keep it at a distance
keeping your gifts at bay.
It's ok
It's ok
Why is it never great
Like fate
Or your own fingers
Kept it from being that way
Sway
Like willows bending under the breeze
In your mind never flowing free
Sway
She takes a towel on her shoulder like a pat on the back
And a slap like a kiss
Bliss
Because she'd rather see that than the pain
Rains a free shower
And in those hours
Her
And you
Will be made free
....given a finger to flick the world, she'd rather hold its hand
She sways
Dragging her form against your warmth
Like the wind pressing willow trees
A breeze
Tied and pulling
you and me
Like wind on leaves
She keeps her gifts in close
Hugging tight like secret lights
When monsters seek to find her glimmer
And she whispers to herself
Its great
Its great
Like fate
Or her focus
Made it that way.
And maybe she will see your sad sop of a form
As its truest shape
A shining knight
Right here in her time of need
Breaking down because she cant.
Or at least refuses to.
Dusty knees and daily fees
paid to give her the best excuse to smile
for a while, bent down
at an end and a want for miles
your vision begins to sway.
It's ok
it's ok
To not be ok and still sway
Like a dance on a stage
it's not a phase
it's just the beginning of a day
A day spent redirecting fate
Or your fingers
to point a new way
