Sweet Dreams……..dedicated to Georgina

The sweetest things I have now, are the dreams I have of you;

I dream we’re holding tightly, sharing love that was so true!

The only thing upsets me, is they end so very soon;

Then I return to all my loneliness, in the light of the silvery Moon!

I try to close my eyes back, so I can see you once again;

But sleep will not come easily, the sandman does not send!

So I get up and write a poem, in remembrance of our days;

As my mauven tears are falling, in my heartbreaks “purple haze”!

The paper that I write on, gets wettened as I cry;

I can’t erase the memory, of the night we said goodbye!

The words then flow out freely, engendered by my pain;

The thought that tears my heart up, I’ll see you ne’er again!

The poem will get finished, my mind will get some ease;

I’ve written you a sweet ode, my heart it does appease!

Then after that I lay down, and close my eyes anew;

Praying for another sweet dream, the ones I have of you!
