Sweetness and Light

We would slide all night

keep riding till morning

on a hazy coctail of 

whites and blacks

slumber from wonder

on a horse made of wool

cushions for cowards 

cold water and medicine

and a tracing paper manuscript

of time erased

the love made of life

from the youthfull years

when we could live together

on sweetness and light
