Tainted Love

Tainted Love

You've taken my heart,And I know not where.
I gave it to you,But I was not aware.
You've captured me in some dilusion or dream.
It's best if I go, but I have no desire to leave.
I've been warned by the heavens and told by the skies,
But their words meant so little when compared to your eyes.
Those eyes that penetrate my innermost being,
Those eyes that beckon my heart to sing.
Am I a fool for falling for you?
Knowing that nothing you say could be true.
Hearing you promise what you'll never do.
Watching in aww, though I already knew.
I knew you would hurt me, I knew you would leave,
I knew that I'd cry, I'd beg and I'd plead.
But someone must love me if only for feign.
When I recall loves of past I must have at least one name.
With open arms I'd take you, if you wished to come back.
To hurt me again, and leave my heart black.
I pray that God hears me when I cry to above,
Father help me and heal me of this binding tainted love.
