Thanks Marion . So I have to ask, any luck with puppy and lick Mats? Our Rottweiler is behaving very protectively too now like you explained to me yours is at beach. Sheās so loving and kind at home and we have socialized her greatly but she has seemed to gravitate to being more concerned in public than trusting. She foams at the mouth at the sight of other people lol . We feel very safe but weāre little reserved taking her to busy places now.Ā
Funnily enough I got the lick mats delivered yesterday...she loved them for 3 minutes exactly untill they were clean then she walked away lol. OK...Daisy is OK with people though when we are out she is over friendly and wants to.lunge at them in excitement but with dogs she is hyper...up on hind legs barking ferociously and if I don't see them coming she pulls me over. I tried all the YouTube stuff( which I don't actually believe) but in the end it was good old fashion bloody anger that she responds to. I would never have let my kids behave like that...she won't either. I had enough one day, forced her to sit and was in her face angrily daring her to bark. It worked. She is not trained by a long shot but I only take her to busy roads where dogs are not likely to be off the leads and every time we see a dog I cross the road, make her sit and we watch them.pass. She is literally foaming at the mouth wanting to bark but so long as my voice is forceful enough she doesn't...I always have treats and give her some when she doesn't bark. We have such a long long way to go Rob but I think we are getting there. If I don't see a dog coming it's back to square one ...I don't enjoy walking her Rob...I live in a beautiful mountainous wooded area and I have to go to busy, polluted roads to walk her. If I ever get a burgled Daisy would party with the people...she is an alasation with huge ears and she is a shit guard dog lol...if i ever get burgled by dogs however...we will be safe lol...let me know how you get on.ok...and im.up for any tips you learn...ps...I have tell you. I.never use violence or choke collars etc...only my voice x
Iām totally against violence as well, thatās funny she liked the lick mats just like our dogs, certain things will get more lost in the intricate patterns and take them longer than others as Iām sure youāve realized. Since we have three dogs every now and then they get little aggressive with each-other from jealousy and we have found a tortilla chip to get their attention and they forget lol( so similar to your treat solution ) Iāve been making her sit by command and watch two smaller dogs eat their treats before her and then her to help prevent food aggression and thatās really been helping. I could never imagine training with violence or shock collars, I have found that if I use my ādad voiceā and the word NOW all 3 of my dogs will respond and listen but I only use that truck when itās needed so they donāt start to ignore it. I canāt imagine my life without them. Our Rottweiler loves raw potatoes and Carrieās them around randomly snacking on them. Well since this our Shih-tzu whose never shown interest will now get a potato from pantry and place between his paws and chomp on it until itās gone lol.. itās the funniest thing ever to watch because of the crisp sounds when he bites into it. They literally are our entertainment everyday.Ā
we use the lock mat when we have to leave and stick it to side of tub and it prevents her from chewing on things why weāre gone.Sounds like this dog of yours is keeping you on your toes!Ā
Daisy is the most loving dog ever ...she always has her front paws around someones neck licking them to death she is scared shitless of my three cats who are like older siblings to her yet she still takes her balls to them.for play...they off course are utterly disdainful and scat her till she is backed into a corner. Your diha sound amazing Rob...I love how you love them because so many are utter bastards to animals. I think.all our teething problems will resolve with time and the DAD voice lol...x

Thanks Tina, i have tried desperately to paint my journey through poetry, all the darkest hours to the brighter ones with hopes it helps someone else. Sometimes the words just donāt seem to get through as strongly but every now and then someone relates and it makes me feel I have purpose. You were a BIG support for me early on in the ādark agesā I remember we actually started off on wrong foot with my puppet poem , itās no longer on here because it was my reborn rob profileā¦ but I look at my writing then and my poetry now and it feels good to be in a healthier mind space:) . I appreciate you and everyone else on here, you guys have really been a support that I never could or wouldāve had if not for poetry. ā¤ļø
