Take Me Home

Take me home
Take me to where my umbilical cord was cut
Take me to where my first cry was heard
Take me to wherefamily is
Iβm called a stranger in a land that knows me not
Iβm left on the street cos no one knows me
Take me to where Iβll be accepted for who I am
Take me far from the chaos
Iβve travelled miles for treasures inexistent
Thought friendship was family
Taught every smile had the heart as its source
Here I stand; deserted on a desert
Take me to where my motherβs breast is
Take me to where my fatherβs tent stands
Take me to where Iβm loved without reason
Thereβre conditions for every help offered here
My heart thumps daily in fear
Xenophobes plot to blow out the life in me
Iβm feared; though I live in fear
If only the soaring eagle could put me on its wings
If only the rushing winds could sweep me away
If only wishes were boats,
I wouldβve sailed to where an embrace awaits
I fear I may never see home
But when I do, Iβll never look back
