Tap Tap

A Waiting Game

Tap Tap

Tap Tap, plastic against a vinyl table
Thud Thud, leather against a carpet floor
It’s a game of patient waiting
It`s a game that`s hard to ignore

Tap Tap, the minutes go by,
Tick Tock, that clock on the wall
It`s a game of procrastination
It’s a game that’s hard to ignore

It never helps.
In the end.
To wait all day.
Mind on mend.

It never stops
For the student.
Does them no good.
To give in.

Tap Tap, now I wasted my time,
Tap Tap, time I will never get back,
Could it be, a warning sign?
That my mind is slipping off track?

Who knows? Who cares? Who wonders?
Time wasted is not time lost.
And those who choose such a path.
Will realise that such wasting,

Will come at a cost.

I`m waiting.

The Fish of the Sea.

I really like the line

Time wasted is not time lost

It's very me for some reason.

Enjoyed - Syd
