I'm trying to teach myself to whisper

and my heart how to beat

and my hands how to hold

more than loveless memories

And my legs how to run towards

someone

not just to flee

and my eyes to see more than

what's right in front of me

Im trying to teach my voice to say

Im sorry and truly mean it

and my feet not to stomp on dreams

and my mind what it means to believe

and im trying to teach my nose to

stop and smell the roses

and my lips to kiss the tips

of my finger prints when

I pause for thought
