So her beauty leftĀ 
When she walked down Lovers LaneĀ 
On the footpath bledĀ 
So was MadeleineĀ 
Innocence in every way -Ā 
Every brush of her lifeĀ 
That she swept upon this shoreĀ 
Goodbye to this ladyĀ 
Taken through the door to beĀ 
Never seen again,
Never kiss again
Soft touches once againĀ 
Tears, tears for MadeleineĀ
