Tears For My Dear Aunt Ruth

Photo of Aunt Ruth at eighteen years old

Tears For My Dear Aunt Ruth

The deadly Corona Virus, has claimed another life;
Our hearts and Souls have been shredded, by Fate’s most evil knife!
For the Matriarch of our family, Aunt Ruth, our paragon;
Residing up in the Heavens, from us now she is gone!
.
Thanksgiving would have been her birthday, turning another page;
She’d say, “I can’t believe I’ve made it, to be ninety years of age”!
But her mind was young and vivid, telling us stories of the past;
About our parents, aunts, and uncles, all gone now, her the last!
.
To her beloved Mindy and Jerry, we are sending all our love;
And to you too, our dear Aunt Ruthie, in the Firmaments above!
You left our sides on yesterday, but eternal you we’ll extol;
For you will be living now forever, in our loving hearts and Souls!
.
.
Our Dearest Aunt Ruth
Yesterday you left our sides
But never our Souls

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your lovely comment.
My wife, named Linda too, is my helper and aspiring poetess, while I, the poet, create most of the works.

Peace and love,

My Dear Cherie,

It is so difficult, because she was the only lifeline left to my past, sometimes telling me stories about my parents that I had never heard before.  Linda and I spent a lot of time with her and my Uncle Milton, when we lived in Southern Florida.  We both shall miss her dearly.  We attended her funeral on Thursday in Louisville, on Zoom..

All my love,
Larry xxx
