Tears of Pearl

Tears of pearl dewdrop rain,
Mingle with mascara stain
Shadows embrace a plight
Crying in the dark of night.
 
A moon echoed within tears,
Bittersweet for all the years
Wasted on a hopeless cause,
Blinded by his many flaws.
 
Somber is a restless night,
Embedded is a heart blight,
Soon drops turn to ice,
Hardened by sacrifice.
 
Discord chills a heart,
A safe guard from love’s impart.
Tears of pearls, a necklace worn,
Lambent like a moon forlorn.
 
Tepid against her skin,
Like the icy bane within.
He swore he’d never stray,
But he did anyway.
 
So like teardrops made of ice,
A heart paid the price.
Maybe someday she’ll find bliss,
With another’s kiss.
