Melting ice in a whiskey glass,
Oscillated rings slowly pass.
Maddening silence, impending doom,
Resonate in heart's heavy gloom.

Pickled by a briny past,
A bit 'o salt for tequila blast.
Melancholy to the very bone.
Finding comfort in a tinkly tone.

Sorrow drowned in amber cask,
Painted smile on Harlequin mask.
Hide notions like shame,
No one for to take blame.

Sway to music by hair 'o dog,
Keep hurt in oblivious fog.
Harden a heart, no feelings shown,
Till you cry tears of stone.
