TELEPHONE AVENUE

Telephone Avenue is a road ahead of time
Blends in nicely in this funny little rhyme
Long before mobiles and the internet
The name of this road was duly set

I'm not sure who invented this road name
Deserves an award and life long fame
For telephones today are common and the norm
Used in cold weather and also the warm

I wonder what Alexander Bell would have to say
Telephones have changed a lot since his day
Telephone Avenue could be anywhere and anyplace
Here on earth or even out of space
