Tell Me What You See; Staring into Darkness

Tell Me What You See; Staring into Darkness

He was a hitchhiker on the road to nowhere

Until she drove him to her City of Darkness

 Fed bedded and content he lost his wanderlust

 Under her erotic spell finding a new compass

...

Never catching sight of any light in her eyes;

 As he gazed her crystal blue revolvers; still he

Found beauty in the ashes, joy in the dirty love

Great the addiction and tightly it clung to him

...

Stronger than a current she pulled on his will

 Held his foolish heart in hand just to plunder,

 Words and lethal kisses took his soul captive

  Yet he felt he was the cure for her dark nature

...

 With eyes closed tight he entered the whirlwind

  Opening up Pandora’s Box but finding it empty;

  A hallow soul in the dark, abandoned and alone

   Smoking a cigarette lost in her safe warm reality

...

 A sudden rationalization came to him-- then

 He wordlessly declared; at her vacant stare

 That she was not a believer in rainbows,

White picket fences or sunshine after the rain

...

A storm came, and colors lost the way home

She never knew religion or love in any person

 Only the constant biting hunger of the skin; sex

 Was not her cure but a temporary diversion

...

 Comfort she did provide and he wanted it often;

 In copious measures taking all the fragile virtue

She offered, and for a while it felt like love, but

   Longing was all she really knew of connection

  ...

  She brushed away the notion in a gesture

  Dismissed the idea altogether, with a smile

  Then turned around and walked away forever

  Never to his black broken soul ever to return

I d agree with CHERIE SUMNER, the ending is sad.....sex is deceptive true....however it baffles me but I am interested in finding out where this poem came from......what inspired it...just curious.

I loved the flow....kept wanting to read the next line ..... the imagery was good as always....you write very well and mature.

Smiles,

Pepper.
