Terrified Inside

Shaking, shuttering, gut pouring, feeling
Inside thinking of the love caught in a trap
I am suffocating, the empty shell the sweltering
Horror, knowing I can't leave you
Terrified, waiting, just waiting scared on the stairs
You will be home, the beating is coming
Screaming, the shouting, the bruises, who loses, me
I'm caught in a trap, dragging my feet
How can I fight back, this disease
It's taken over me, I am taking the rap
I am starting to really come unglued, could try to go to court
Maybe sue, I can't defeat, let me go, free me from this tormented bondage
I can't hide it, I really hate him, he's coming
No more tears, too many beers, too many years
No more a hostage, stop this crushing pain of bloody tears
I'm getting out now, I shut the door, locked it, shattered, doesn't matter
I'm running free, let me be, still terrified inside

Nancy,
True, ever so true, (Lil)Sis Shah, A sad reality for to many to have to live each day of their lives, feeling as though a prisoner in their own homes and the warden and tormentor are the ones, that so obscuredly proclaims their love for them....No more pain should not just be an object of our drsire but instead, a true way of life for all to be able to live, receive and give in return....And its a start if just one (man), practiced this preaching rather then just talking about it, although the goal is for all of them, that utilize this tool of torture and those of us that don't, see  to it, that once and for all, it will become an eradicated thing of the long gone past, forever....Great poem and sad point in life, to have to even be subjected to this demeaning behavior for anyone to have to be in fear of.........
Kindest regards,
Jim.   Â
Thanks Jim,
My heart goes out to anyone that lives this sort of thing, I can't imagine, indeed it must come to an end!
Appreciate your comments always...............
Best of Everything to You
Nancy
And you as well Nancy, for the unselfishness you have chosen, by presenting this poem.We all have known are have had a loved one,(family member) or someone close in our lives, that has faced this terrible behavior by the hands of a so called, (significant other)...
