Test

Taste the sun

Test

Let me profess!
I realised it’s a test.
They put me down like all the rest.
But I`ll give up for nothing less.

Like a thicket jungle
Everyone’s reaching for the sunlight
Drain my roots and shade my leaves of sight
But I`ll never stumble, I`ll fight

For your rumours have intention
Of getting yourself mentioned
But for what it’s worth.
You`d get what you deserved;

If you stopped to realise.
That if you stopped looking down.
Maybe I`d be the one
Who would look up

Let me taste the sun.
The Fish of the Sea.

Hi Max...I'm so touched by the mention. A work of inner strength here because it takes strength to realise that it is the  people who whisper and bully that are the ones with problems, not their targets...hugs 🤗🤗

Slightly late in coming to this poem, perhaps, but I love it. One should never stop fighting to gewt to the light, but it would be so much easier if one did not have to fight, but if we'd strive collectively to get there as one nation. I am with you on this!

No worries John! I'm glad you liked! And so very true! Seems like everyone is out for themselves these days. Never filters down to the Cosmos though. Best wishes! TFOTS

No, I have no worries, especially as long as these lines can still travel around the world and my koala still sleeps on our bed (a stuffed one, that is, 32 years old now😁)

It's cool to think about that, isn`t it? such a privilege to be born into a connected world wasn`t the same 30 years back... Funny for you to mention Koalas, have one in a backyard tree last weekend! Don`t think he`d sleep on my bed though! Best wishes. TFOTS

Yes, the world has changed so much in my 60 years. I remember well how excited we were to see a car that came all the way from Belgium (starting 30 kilometers (roughly 19 miles) from Eindhoven where I lived then or a German car (closest bit of border is some 50 miles) and now the country is all over with trucks all the way from Russia even (1.250 miles at least - The Netherlands are about 225 miles long S to N and 110 miles wide E to W). Mobile phones/computers totally unknown and now we even have Koala's live in a zoo near Antwerp Belgium at about 1.5 hours drive. First time I saw them I completely broke down and cried my heart out at the sweeties... Friends of mine in amsterdam will be really jealous to hear of a koala in the back yard. Look well after them for us, will you, please?

Hi John, great to hear from you, I can't imagine what It would be like to take only a few hours to travel to another country by car. That's always been such an eye opener  for me about who live in Europe. But yes how the times have changed! Cant remember much before the internet though. We are in near a small national park where I am at, so we get quite a few Koalas that come by, some kangaroos too if we are lucky. They like to sleep in the trees and only really move around at night or in cooler parts of the day. They dont usually drink water, but sometimes when it gets really hot we leave a plastic container out with water. Poor fellas dont shed their fur. Thanks so much for your kind comment though! Say hi to your friends in Amsterdam for me (so very cool ;)) kind regards. TFOTS or Max take your pick

I will gicve your regards to my friends indeed. On my side: I can't imagine how it is to live in such a big country. My wife and I annually pass our summer holiday in France: in about four hours driving we pass three borders (300 miles): Holland/Belgium, Belgium/Luxemburg and Luxemburg/France. Europe is divided in many countries after all and in our corner we are just small countries (The Netherlands/Belgium/Luxemburg). My memories go back to the mid-sixties of the last century (I was born in March 1960 - 23rd to be precise), but the bit about the cars is from the early seventies... I can tell you it is more fun to live now with all the Internet...
