Testament of my love

a Valentine sonnet

Testament of my love

What may one bequeath to thee?
who fills my night with endless stars
beckons the sun to warm my soul
my platitude lay gaunt and weary,
for where may one hail the bells?
which toll for virtue heaven sent
beauty's depth which oceans scale
yet tales of vanity's verse I tell,
when will heaven's angels sing?
of its glorious manifest
envy of immortal shadows
in its shade my peace it bring,
bequeath unto you I draw from above
this simple testament of my love
