How tragic the loss
of a generation so young
who sacrificed for us
their lives so barely begun
Giving of their future
so we could have ours
now forever unreachable 
iconic shining stars
Remembered unparalleled 
with esteemed pride
their renowned ghosts
walking forever by our side
Each new generation 
to essentially know
the magnitude of their bravery
and infinite debt we owe
As dying in the fields
was for our freedom sown
to bloom a carpet of poppies
red in their life blood grown 
Let's give thanks for today's breath
and may theirs be never forsaken
a mass silent voice booming 
with each last breath taken
And to be bestowed with highest honour
their names in stone be set
to remember ever these bravest of souls
give ultimate thanks and for all never forget!
