Thank You Rick Parfitt

Still can't believe that Rick Parfitt has gone
Even in heaven,he'll let the show go on
An opening riff to bring the Quo to your attention
Caroline is one song,I'd like to mention
They made their sound with the twelve bar blues
A style of music, you could never loose
Psychedelic rock, boogie rock, hard and ROCK'N'ROLL,were the genres they pursued
Not to have them in your collection,I'd say, would be so rude
The Spectres in 62,Rossi and Lancaster, were the founders
In 67 brought Rick Parfitt, then they were all rounders
John Coghlan was the thunder God,who kept the guys in rhythm
To polish off the sound they had, with his drumming system
For many a year, the band churned out some good old ROCK'N'ROLL
For rockers both young and old,I'd say,it saved their soul
They opened the music floodgates at Live Aid,the only way that the Quo could
To help raise the money for the starving,oh yes,the boys did good
Over the years,a different line up,to confront a brand new age
But the two frontmen,Parfitt and Rossi,as if brothers, would always grace the stage
The best of British Rock Royalty, they are true and they are good
I've listened to the Quo for many a year, they're good for the pressure of blood
Sadly now,the driving force for this great band is no longer here
The emptiness is apparent,in every rockers tear
God bless you Rick Parfitt, for bringing us your great sound
One of the best rhythm guitarists, that ever was around
