Thanks For The Memories

The greatest entertainer, in our countries history;
Hands down is our gifted comedian, Bob Hope it has to be!
Loved by everyone in America, a kind and gentle Soul;
His devotion was unquestionable, he kept the United States so whole!

For starting in the early 1940’s, when we had to go to war;
He would entertain our saddened boys, and their happiness would soar!
He’d bring beautiful babes from Hollywood, to kiss and hug the troops;
All dreaming of a love affair, with these gorgeous “Betty Boops”!

Between the wars, he made movies, with Bing and Dorothy Lamour;
His closest friend in real life, and a female paramour!
He also brought his comedy, to us weekly on TV;
And founded a home for troubled youth, in the city of Cincinnati!

He and his wife Dolores, were married for sixty-nine dear years;
When he passed away at one-hundred, the country mourned in tears!
We never will forget him, this man who dedicated his time on Earth;
To putting smiles on our faces, and bringing us such mirth!
