That's it

I loved him so
but love alone was not enough
Not for him
Not for me

I loved him so
I went away and closed the door
I said that was it
And I really mean it

But he didn't understand
And now he wants me back
On his own old terms
I said no to...

And I have no heart to explain to him:
I did really mean it.
That was it.
There is no me anymore:
You've smashed the old me with a hammer of your choice,
She broke into pieces so small
That no glue in the world can put them back together.
I recreated myself from the sand, dirt and tears
And this is the new me you don't even know
And hopefully will never meet.
That was it.
