Poem -
The Age of Entitlement
Cookie jar
sits on the counter
beyond the reach
of the hungry child
who strains
to achieve
instant gratification
that defines
the Now Generation
Patience rapidly
replaced by frustration
as sweet dreams
go unfulfilled
(an early taste of adulthood)
Most will scream
and cry for Mommy
who of course
will give their baby
what they need
if only to shut them up
so they can get back
to their secret
online romance
The special toddler few
will learn to use their heads
and find a way
to overcome the denial obstacle
with a chair
They will also find
satisfaction is multiplied
when you achieve the goal yourself
instead of having it handed to you

Work ethic...
Some people probably have to look up the meaning in the Dictionary...
How many would say what's that?
Next generation they'll probably say Work ethic did you just swear at me?
You brought up some really great points here and how many Mother's decide to spend more time with their kids when they don't have a man in their life?
Oh yeah, I guess I'll be able to spend more time with my kid now...
The only competition the kid has is the internet...
The internet and a man how does anyone have time for their kids?
The kids will learn on their internet...
It's not like they go outside and play anymore...
Imagination what's that?
Some people get stressed with one or two kids in College they have to pay for however long the degree...
I admire the parents who make their kids work their way through College...
The parents should be responsible for their children's education if they don't want to work or the parents don't want them too...
No one helped all these College Students before and they've got bills and some even wrecked their credit by trying to pay it back...
The costs are ridiculous plus interest...
Now, this generation wants free...
I had two kids to support not a Million or more...
The other people and the Government wants to do it...
Go for it!
I think we need to get smarter and request an itemized tax bill before they take any money out of people's paycheck...
Then explain how I'm responsible for their debt...
Then we think we're so awesome when we get a refund...
Here you go you good little children...
We'll lend this to you and get it back Next Year!

I don't buy merchandise I don't want and no one buys it for me because, they I say I want it and don't want to pay for it...
Why am I going to pay for what they want oh because, they want it and don't want to have to buy it?

There are stirrings of possible laws being enacted guaranteeing all U.S. citizens a set minimum income... As noble and great as this sounds, I wonder if this would ultimately cause more harm than good
