The badlands

The dark chapter

The badlands

There's a war going on inside my head,
turning ever bit of hope, dream and wish I ever had
into negativity and straight into the badlands.
When I walk upon the warzone as myself,
I step over all these bodies, all these images of me.
That either tried to run, fight or tried to even be... me,
but who died, because a part of me simply can't let go.
A part fighting to gain a little bit of control,
while the outside is just trying to laugh everything away,
refusing that the pain is winning... gaining ground, the hurt inhabiting
and the wounds accepting that they are here to stay.
