Sin of the son
The dark chapter
Did you discover my fake smile
smiling at you, while crying at the same time.
A god's gift now cursed by the devil
one certain way that's standing for all now.
A smile never meant to waste or fade away,
but to remain on my face every single day.
As a reminder of what you did to me,
but couldn't see.
As a reminder to the person I needed,
that you couldn't be.
A tormenting gesture from me to you,
that you simply can't ignore, nor put away.
Finalizing and symbolizing my goodbye,
for all of the debts I had to pay.

What an end to a great trilogy that combined tells the intricate chain of events, that then shaped the child that was forced to bear watching all that happen. The thick skin formed and the mask now dutifully worn as a means of self preservation. Yet knowing deep down you are not projecting your true self. Clever writing and also clever intent with you making this a trilogy of poems. Hats off to you, it is a great opening set of posts. So glad to of read you
