The Bard

The Bard

I've seen deep into the filth of man
Places only demons go
I've peered upon the dangerousĀ
The ones who've sold their soul

I've listened to the vile wail
From folk whose mind is broken
I've heard all the hatful things
From under breath is spoken

I've felt the hopeless clenchĀ
Of a mother whose babe was taken
Ive embraced a drunken urchin
Whose inner rage has waken

I've tasted bread of a woman
After she murdered her only son
I've felt the sticky fingersĀ
of a thief whose on the run

Nearly ruined my nose
When came upon an open grave
Or forever I heave
Over a girl who didn't bathe

Who I am, I sing the songs
Of life drawn long and hard
I write the lives in poetry
My name is just the bard
