THE BEAST IN THE WOODS

Iām lostĀ
No bearings sway my wayĀ
No direction to save the day Ā
So I enter the eerie woodsĀ
and letās just say Iām scaredĀ
and thatās just from the sounds Iāve heard
this was no birdĀ
well not one that Iāve ever heard
I continued onĀ
the bright white light that shone down from aboveĀ
gave me a little bit of love, but not muchĀ
I could see, but just barelyĀ
As it lit the way like a candle being dimmedĀ
Before being extinguished and no longer lingeredĀ
I walked onĀ
The ghostly mist that covet the groundĀ
That moved mysteriouslyĀ
And Ā made no soundĀ
Had my heart beatingĀ
Like a greyhoundĀ
Strange noises surroundĀ
Yet I see nothingĀ
Just trees and groundĀ
The culprit canāt be found
That night was coldĀ
And through these old bonesĀ
In my short trench coatĀ
I felt its icy embraceĀ
Succumb my warm faceĀ
I removed my scarf from my pocket
And wrapped it around my neck, then on I trekkedĀ
Trying not to upset, the gas like pockets that spewedĀ
An unpleasant smell into the nights dense air
Which seemed to dance with flairĀ
then disappear with the nights airĀ
CRACK!
Ā I spin to see two huge red eyes staring back through the thick brackenĀ
Iām paralysed , I cannot move and stare back at those eyes so hugeĀ
I wished I could get these damn shoes to moveĀ
Iād be out of here, like I was wearing running shoes
I hear a whisperĀ
That eerie sound didnāt mess aroundĀ
It succumbed my senses, left me defencelessĀ
While wild vines from the ground wrapped around my anklesĀ
Ā And dragged me down to the ground
And pinned me downĀ
CRACK! CRACK!
I stared from my unfortunate position laid on my backĀ
I move my head to the sound of the cracking branches that soundingĀ
Like burning wood, yet there was no flame to blame
I gulpĀ
The culprit stood six foot tall, long sharp clawsĀ
And a wall of thick brown fur covered him from head to toeĀ
I was fastened stuck, out of luck,Ā
I look around for something to throwĀ
But my eyes fall emptyĀ
The floor has plenty yet nothing heavier enoughĀ
To move the opposing force that stood staringĀ
Making my blood run cold as if icy barbs caught inside my veinsĀ
and cut against my thin membranes like razor blades
Ā It moves closer,Ā
The cold shivers that ran down my spine
Felt less than sublime causing goose bumps to riseĀ
I felt the fear set behind my thick set brown eyes
And tried not to cry in case it sensed my fearĀ
I thought this is it Iām going to dieĀ
This wasnāt my ideal thought of deathĀ
Iād rather die in my bedĀ
Fall asleep and let deaths hands creepĀ
And finally reap
While I drift away in deep sleep
But no that wonāt beĀ
Iām laid upon the frosted groundĀ
Tied down my vicious vinesĀ
That have my body well and truly boundĀ
Ā Itās grip tight, from its unearthly Ā bound
Its, breath is warm yet cold at the same timeĀ
And smells a bit like pineconesĀ
An aroma that roams up and around my clothes
Comes to rest inside my noseĀ
Damn pinecones
I feel cold flesh brush against my cheekĀ
I let out a quite trump with a gentle squeakĀ
As its cold nose sniffs its way towards my feetĀ
Inside Iām screaming eeeeeeek!
While on the outside I try and turn the other cheekĀ
I gulp, the lump rolls up and down my throat
Sharp teeth dig deep into my leg Ā
I exhale as it vigorously shakes my legĀ
Like a rabid dog shaking its favourite ted Ā
I had no excuses has the pain inducesĀ
My body to convulseĀ
And introduceĀ
A sickly smellĀ
As my throat does swell
Then out my mouthĀ
A foul river did flowĀ
Ā
inside in hope my body does begĀ
that this be over quickĀ
I donāt wish to see my own blood dripĀ
Or see this monstrous beast sipĀ
On the blood I long to keep hold of
With a tight gripĀ
CRACK!
I frantically stare towards the soundĀ
But see no movementĀ
Nothing aroundĀ
Then I hear a familiar soundĀ
CLICK! CLICK !
I see the double barrel poke through the thick brushĀ
Its sight delights as it catches pale moon lightĀ
I close my eyes Ā and wish the beast a fond good nightĀ
BANG! BANG!
Both barrels expel their loadsĀ
And in their wake a ghostly smoke roseĀ
Ā And in the air the beast groans floatĀ
and pierce my earsĀ
while its blood smears my faceĀ
I know cry blood filled tearsĀ
THUD!
I look to by left, through crimson Vaselined eyesĀ
Look to the beast that that now writhes in agony and painĀ
I look to hole thatās now pierced in its brainĀ
While its blood drips like strawberry rain
I feel a warm handĀ
Now know that Iām savedĀ
Forever grateful to this man so brave Ā
The vines that held me downĀ
Now wither and disappear beneath the groundĀ
The beast now dead, no longer makes a soundĀ
The coffin in my head dissipatesĀ
Sorry grim reaperĀ
Iām going to be late for our date
Death wasnāt my fateĀ
Itās not my time to stand outside those pearly gatesĀ
Heaven will have to waitĀ

well done, I like how when you write you do it a style that is your own... You seem to tell a story while sticking within Poetry guidelines! You tell intresting and creepy stories, they are always the best! Anyways, keep up the writing and always try to expand even more on your topics!Ā
