The Beauty Of Nature

Why are there conflicts throughout the world
Natural evolution is surely a clue
This need for dominance and ultimate survival
Is ingrained in our psyche, a basic rule
A rule for survival, as essential as breathing
Long as we've inhabited this earth
Unfortunately the chances of reversing this trend
The way of the world since birth
With all it's frailties, it's still a marvelous sphere
Filled with stunning and unique treasures
Giant forests of redwoods, eye popping waterfalls
Inspiring mountains, unpredictable weather
All part of the overall charm and stunning vistas
Awe inspiring, the mind is touched
By these magical images, these treasures we see
Not appreciated in a world so corrupt
Rise above the turmoil, it's all part of life
The joys far surpass the negatives
Our outlook is critical to a contented existence
With the love of friends and relatives
With all the stunning beauty that exists around us
We must rise above all the turmoil
And remember the beauty we see every day
The appeal, the lure, the magic of this soil

Good rhyming in an abcb rhyme scheme featured in each of your six rhymed quatrains, Jack.
The poisons we pump into our earth's atmosphere, waterways and soil, just to name a few, are atrocious. This is our home, for goodness sake, and until we colonize the moon or man a mission to Mars, it's the only one we've got.
Good poem as well as social commentary.

I don't believe it's too late just yet, Jack.
But we're getting close.
