The Betrothal
Photograph of our wedding June 5, 1993

The fifth day in a row together, that glorious Monday night;
You came home from work at seven, we held each other tight!
After entering your carriage house, I popped the cork on our champagne;
We sipped the bubbly between kisses, our love pouring out like rain!
.
We barely touched our jumbo shrimp, too exhilarated to eat;
Our hearts and Souls were soaring, each time our lips would meet!
Before asking you to marry me, I made but one request;
That you never cut your hair again, grown as long as my behest!
.
You replied without hesitation, proved you loved me very true;
Saying, “Yes my darling Larry, I’d be honored to grow it long for you”!
I felt in me an implosion, such as I’d never known before;
I looked into your sweet eyes, as I knelt down on the floor!
.
I said, “My precious Angel Linda, will you marry me and be my wife;
I will honor and I will cherish you, for the rest of both our lives”!
You took my hands and pulled me close, the word “yes” reverberated in my Soul;
This woman I met just five days ago, had made this broken man now whole!
.
.
Our love came quickly
But will last eternally
Our Souls ever bound

Dear Linda,
Glad you enjoyed it. Truth is always stranger than fiction.

Hey LARRY!!........I don't know what it is precisely that DRAWS ME IN EACH TIME!!..... The Hair?.....I dunno!!...... but I DO know a well written poetic narrative when I read/see one!!...... your love shines brother...... and adding this beautiful layered topping to the whole of it doesn't hurt it any either!!....... smiles..... and lots of love from your cyber-friend and admirer.......T xo. Hello to Linda!!........hugs-n-kisses!!........T xo. : )
My Dear Tony,
Oft times, I get a little "hair" brained, when writing love poetry about Linda and me. In my defense, I have forty wonderful reasons for doing so, one for each inch of her lovely tresses. I guess there could be a lot of worse things to be obsessing with. Thanks for always being there for me.
Love you Bro,
Larry xxxÂ
