~ The Birth Of The Moonlight Ballet ~
{The Physicists Ice Age}

The ocean lay still this night
No ripple born,
A sheer mirror
Stretching out far and clear
In truth and in sadness....
The moon dances freely
Upon its shores
And glimmers, in the heart of it
As though this, was where it was born
A slow, moving,
Moonlight, Ballet....
Sophocles, many moons ago
Heard of its birth
Upon the Aegean,
And spread its light on "Dover Beach"
But, this is no tale of misery
This is pure magnetism,
The birth of the moonlight ballet...
For, a foot to the left
And there'd be no life
Here, on planet earth
So, the Gods found itΒ necessary
To dance, upon a clear bed of water
To birth, the Sun's only daughter...
I stand here in wonder
At how the ocean may appear, as ice
And though it's only happened, twice
It seems, crystal clear
To the physicists ear,
That there is, quite simply, one way
To create, a moonlight ballet
Upon a sheer,
Mirror,
In darkness...

Yes PRATIBHA!!β¦.I have two favorite quotes about writing ~
Β Β Β Β Β Β 1)Β ~ "To read, is to write, to have written.."
Β Β Β Β Β Β 2) ~ "Writing is, re-writing..."
So, I have always made it habit to understand that my first draft of a poem/song...even though it feels finished when I post it....is NEVER perfect or to my satisfaction....because when I come back to it a few weeks or months later....I ALWAYS find things that I need to change or remove or reshape.....it NEVER fails and it ALWAYS makes my poem or song better!!β¦..I don't know why I'm telling you this Pratibha...something told me I should....I hope I'm not being to preachy!! (smiles)β¦...stay groovy my friend!!β¦..T xoΒ : )

Hey Tony I understand. I have done the same too. Revisited a poem and edited if it didnt feel right. With any written work it's the best way to rediscover what you have written is still creating magic ?
Love the 2 quotes! I'll keep a note of them ones!! ?

My Dear Tony,
As I read this poem, I could see your deft hand and mind gliding your pens creation, and the great Nijinsky performing it.
The ancient tides were motionless
Stuck in a perpetual plie
Thus happened on that evening
"The Birth Of The Moonlight Ballet"
All my love,
Larry xxx
