The Black Cloud
The black cloud that now follows me, I cannot seem to shake;
It brings with it torrential tears, and thunderous filled heartache!
It showers me with acid rains; they eat into my soul;
What used to be replete with love; is now an empty hole!
It came from out a clear blue sky; it appeared the night you left;
It changed a heart that often smiled, into one so sad bereft!
The suns’ light on me never shines, for this cloud above me stays;
Each morning is like evening now, the darkness of eternal day!
The only light that comes my way; is in dreams I have of you;
With azure skies we walk again, and steal a kiss or two!
But then they end and I’m back alone, in the ebon of my life;
I reach for you, but you’re not there, pain slices with its knife!
I pray someday the cloud will pass, and then I’ll see the sun;
Then maybe I will smile again, when my healing has begun!
Until then I’m sequestered in the darkness, that brings its deadly shroud;
But somehow I’m going to free myself, from the “Curse of the Black Cloud”!

it is a truly beautiful piece of poetryÂ
it brought a tear to my eye as i felt my own loss in your wordsÂ
the last four lines gave a sense of hope for brighter times
