it"s impossible that sitting here
reflecting and wondering
how and when we went so wrong
it is complicated, we made it domesticated
ripped the seams and hearts from each other
discarded our vowels
each cheated, but not with others
just by taking love for granted
and trashing the dreams and hopes we had
bringing it to the table
unable to voice
what we both were thinking
led to inconsolable nights
and way too much thinking

god we were happy and sad and mad
but mostly glad that we had one and other
