The Bridge

The Bridge

This bridge has held many

And one day it shall fall.

Its hinges and its thin ropes may soon break from the rock wall.

Be careful when crossing

And watch your every step.

Don't look down, because you may imagine falling from great depth.

Step by step the old bridge sways

The wooden old bridge has been around from decades.

It creek, the old boards crack

They splash into the water with a silent calm smack.

The old bridge has held many

Will it ever hold again

Its thin ropes swing from both ends.

The boards are floating down stream

There is nothing left

Just one empty space with a great depth.
