The bridge to the after life.
I always told you I’d cross the bridge when you crossed.
I didn’t know that day would come so soon, watching your eyes no longer filled with life.
I completely lost my will to fight.
Your absence screamed louder than any pain I had ever felt, the knife it held went straight into my heart.
Seeing you so beautiful as you lay to rest, I couldn't help but feel lonely and depressed.
Your smile faded, skin pale and all of a sudden my emotions went down like a vail, I couldn’t take much more so I decided to bail.
I bailed and as I drew my last breath, I could hear the sound of my mother screaming, scared to death.
I now watch as she clenches my lifeless body, tears everywhere, I could only tell she was in a state of despair.
I say my silent goodbyes as I walk into the light, hand in hand with my lover, now we can be together for all that comes after.
