Poem -

The Capture.

The Capture.

From inception there were
 reservations.
Warnings to contemplate self preservation.
The wrenching of the gut that cannot lie,
I heeded not!....blindsided to my soul's faint cry.
I chose unwisely from the start.
Without a guide... or a knowing in the heart..
In the silence of the night I wept.
The bruises emerging as at last I slept.
And yet as I woke to a rising sun,
To my boundaries again being overrun.
I made no move to "run like hell!"
Sense of worth destroyed as again darkness fell.
Left broken and ravaged and close to insane.
The bruises have healed but the scars remain.
Running bone deep, etched on my soul..
Freedom comes hard after years of control....
