The Cavern

Under the roads of stone
Caverns reach to other worlds
Unexplored, unexplained
Indescribable with words
Blanketed by darkness
Soothed by silence
once ravaged by a war raged
Now a tomb for violence
My silent
Footsteps go unnoticed
I breath the heavy scent
Of blood and sweat so potent
It could of happened yesterday
This world is so preserved
But the beauty of this tomb
Cannot be put into written word
This is my tomb
Where my internal wars die
The very fabric of it woven
Into the pupils of my eyes
I lay them to sleep
I put them aside
A mountain of pain
That's hollow inside
That hollow space
This cavern of mine
Is big enough for me
It's where I reside
Until there comes a time
When my defence fails
Once again the hurt surfaces
Internal conflict strikes again
My heart is too big
My passion too vast
I can't maintain this farce
I can't control the past
And so I let it rage
Burning my insides
I linger in the ashes
Where my pain resides
