THE CHRISTMAS BAUBLE

THE CHRISTMAS BAUBLE

We decorated the Christmas tree
we really had a ball
Then IĀ sat downĀ looked around
and my tears,Ā beganĀ toĀ fall
I justĀ could`ntĀ stop them
I tried to hold them in
Another Christmas without you
where do IĀ begin

All our old traditionsĀ just a memoryĀ now
treasured by us all
We will rememberĀ them easily
always there, inĀ mindsĀ recall
I wont forget you loved Christmas eve
you would be,Ā excited as a childĀ
I wont forget you loved givingĀ gifts
seeing all the smiles
Ā
You gave us such great Christmas`s
we did`nt have Ā a lotĀ
But we were always happy
with what we had, or what weĀ hadĀ not
It was always about family time
love,Ā good cheer and fun
And of course youĀ told us about
the nativity,Ā the coming,of Gods son
Ā
So this Christmas IĀ hangĀ a bauble
with a picture of you,Ā etched in whiteĀ
It is placed nearĀ the top of ourĀ tree
shining outĀ so bright
Christmas will notĀ be the same
but the bestĀ we have to make
So IĀ willĀ wipe away the tears
for my mother in heaven,Ā sake
Ā

My father absolutely loved this time of year and after he passed it was difficult to notĀ break into tears whilst putting up decorations. He always made such an event out of doing so for the family. Now gettingĀ the tree just the way he would like brings cherished memories and I smile.Ā  Never do I feel he is closer than at Christmas.

Beautiful piece.Ā

Thank you so much for sharing.

HUG !

Hi Dear Debs,

Oh, our dear Debs. Ā This is a real tearjerker. Ā So beautiful how you honor your dear Mother with your precious memories of how she always made your holiday season such a joy. Ā I am sure she is up in Heaven, and when she reads the loving words of her dear Deborah, she will smile forever. Ā Christmas for you will never be the same, but through your lovely poetic verse, you will still, always share it with her.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

xox Larry

Hi Debs, what a beautiful but sad write, it's that time of year when we remember those that are no longer with us yet we celebrate their lives with Ā a reminder they are still in our hearts a bauble with a face on. great write flowed lovely Ā
