The cry of an African child

The cry of an African child

Too loud
To be ignored
Across the vacuum of dreams
Through a vacant future,
Echoes of sorrow
Build up to a worst tomorrow.

The cry of an African child
Too loud to be ignored
Cuts through the earth
And shake skeletons
Of forbidden bones.

Same weeps an African dream
Squashed and engraved
In his troubled soul
As he curse the  melanin in him;
Torn is mama Africa,
Hands too rough from wars she fought
That can not console her child.

The cry of an African child
Too loud to be ignored
Travel through waves
And die in the cold hearts
Of ignorant men.
Same dies an African dream
In the desert of turmoil minds.

The cry of an African child
Swallowed by a giant of time,
Sealed by shovels
And spades
And silenced
Unheard.
