The Dark Cloud

Where there used to be such sunshine, a dark cloud took its place;

It follows me all over, and hides my saddened face!

It appeared upon our doorstep, just before you went away;

And it’s now in my horizons, it hovers night and day!

It’s brought eternal darkness, since the “light of my life” had leave;

With no light at the end of tunnels, all I do is grieve!

It also brings some downpours, the teardrops from my eyes;

And also lots of thunder, the roaring of my cries!

Each day I hope it leaves me, but it’s endlessly above;

In its darkness then I shudder, and sob for my lost love!

At night I’ll get some sunshine, in dreams I have of you;

But too quickly they are over, and my heart again is blue!

I’m told by weathered pundits, in time, it disappears;

And again I’ll see the suns’ rays, and alleviate my fears!

So when that finally happens, I’ll start my life anew;

But ‘til then I’ll keep crying, for the love I shared with you!
