The Dark Tower

The forgotten life of love.
The one I lived long ago;
when you and I were one;
when we knew true treasure.
In the rush of pure pleasure.
Life was sweet.
We romped about as kids.
We never stopped and worried,
as we knew it all was handled,
we had no premonitions of pain,
we just treated each day the same.
I fell so hard for you.
The beach the sun and the water,
played happy backgrounds to love,
learned in the time of fun,
when there were others worrying,
about our future.
We had no time for darkness.
Strictly children of the light,
we lived treating all we knew,
with a love filter brand new,
and devoid of hate.
What say you now oh my prince?
The dark tower rose its ugly head,
and captured your lady fair,
kept her in a prison of dispair,
and devoid of love.
You deserted me for the race,
of money and time and place,
you went to the ivory halls,
and dressed the part of a trubador.
But you left me behind,
to only tell the tales,
of love that was so sublime.
It ruined me for any other.
So why not see me one last time?
