The day off

The day off

Sorry mate I can't be bothered
just getting dressed would have me peeved
sorry but at times I can't be asked
to make the effort and I get past
the look, the smell, the need for fun
when I have no energy and there is no sun.

On the sofa with a cup of tea
or coffee, wine or some Chablis
the most I think is what to watch
praying no one will come to lodge.

I feel lazy and I want to slob
today no effort, I want no job
a takeaway will do at the most
today I want to play no host.

The dog comes, he needs a walk
sorry pup, where is my sock?

An then the thought passes through my head
I should clean, shop and buy some bread
But the moment passes and I go back
to the task in hand and here I slack.
