The devils eyes

I thought the devil was a man,
with eyes of black and crimson.
but the devil has your blue eyes,
and he won't look away from me
And I find myself staring at him
His smile hinting at memories of you
Kisses and promises and a love born under the stars
I'm back to looking in his eyes,
because its the closest I've been to you in a while
And I'm reminded of lazy days in the sun,
laughter and water guns, wet t-shirts
a hue I thought I'd only see once
Dark blue, light blue, grey.
Holding hands at midnight,
a first kiss in the starlight,
I'm looking into the devils' eyes.
they remind me of you.

Ya know, Satan was the most beautiful of all of God's angels, Savannah.
Oh sure, the Prince of Darkness is often portrayed as a hideous horned beast with a forked tongue, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Who in their right mind would wanna get close to something that horrific?
You know what they say;
"You get more honey with sugar than you do with vinegar."
Nicely penned!
