The Devil's Moon!

The Devil's Moon!

Cosmic design alights the sky
in shades of night
from inky black to angelic white
And balanced amidst a silvery
blue moon on throne of darkest mood
surrounded by stars in servitude
Gleaming it's bidding to splinter light
upon the Earth, a transient eerie sight
On the lakes a swirling light display
mesmerising animals to still and silent stay
With essence of fear a creature howls
to a distant charge
answering the call of the moon at large
Time to cower to its power unknown
fangs growing, snarling shown
Bones breaking out of frame
forming to a Werewolf's shame
Crying "No!" to no avail
only the blue moon's asking to prevail
Silent agony holds the days
as constantly prowling a no exit maze
Despairingly  accepting there is no release
forever refused a resting in peace
To only obey the Devil moon's will
it's endless control spilling urges to kill
Darkly cursed by evil lived before
punishment given at the Devil's door
To return to Earth and ever roam
with other soulless husks, invisible and alone
Only to appear in the twilight bloom
under the command of the haunting moon
and lament for eternity, no pity for plight
For evil done, ever deserving
of the Werewolf's frame
every Devil's Moon night!

I love it! I absolutely enjoy reading dark and eerie stories and poems. The darker the better, and this was a dark shade of grey. Great work here.
