" THE EBB & FLOW OF FRIENDSHIP "
When we engage in this most human affection
The effect is a most powerful exhilaration
In Love letters with our eyes and hearts wide open
We speak poetically of friendship and Love begun
Not as in the intimacy of Lovers on honeymoon
But the everlasting foundation ever being groomed
Yet the two chambers of the heart are not without analogy
In the ebb and flow of friendships immortality
A new person ~ to me ~ is a glorious possibility
To share that which has been given so freely to me
And in that divine acceptance, I find I'm duty bound
To follow Mother Nature's example of seasons come round
The Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winters song of simplicity...
I confess to tremendous tenderness for friendship's hand
Like the immortality of the soul, so hard to understand
I must feel pride in my friends most happy achievements
And caress them when life faces them with hardened bereavements
So when we engage in this most binding affection
Is it not apparent that we are living the give and take
Of God's sweet Protection...

Hi Tony I love this poem it has made me cry I,m sure you didn`t want to make anyone cry but for me it was needed, This poem has inspired me to write about my very best friend who died two years ago,
I thank you for this, it has released built up emotion that i did not allow myself to feel, because of other circumstances in my life

True friendship requires commitment, loyalty and delivery without expecting to receive anything material for it. There are false friends that will become our way like dead flowers, false friends that sadden our souls, but there are gleaming and eternal friends that fill us with the heart of joy and happiness.
False friends make us wary of friendship, but with the love and friendship should not never close any door.

Friendship is a feeling very similar to love, both require commitment and loyalty. True friendship is a collective mystery and love is a miracle that only affects two people, both feelings when they come from the heart are pure, noble and eternal.
Friendship and love in a world so materialistic as ours is usually dress with dark interests, personally I think that friendship is more important than family or love, the family comes we imposed while friends chose them us, love is an exchange of pleasurable feelings, friendship is delivered without ever expecting anything in return.
Love our fathers, our sons and our brothers really doesn't have any merit, but love and worry about unknown people is a challenge that not all people can achieve, and that is the friendship, love and feel empathy for strangers.
