The Eve Of Destruction

The Eve Of Destruction

Someone’s taken a bite out of the Apple, the forbidden fruit of yore;
Eden’s Garden is in chaos, a Paradise no more!
But this time, twas not the lady, as the Bible does us tell;
She’s been replaced by evil Satan, who sent a virus up from Hell!
.
A vicious wanton killer, taking multitudes in its path;
Around the World we’re falling, helpless victims of its wrath!
The Epicenter is New York City, more people dying every day;
Gentle Souls alive just weeks ago, have now sailed off away!
.
And it is spreading across America, from Sea to shining Sea;
People fearing for their futures, what their outcome now will be!
Our Scientists and Doctors, work feverishly to find a cure;
But till then, we’re all in Harms Way, how much can we endure!
.
Believers look up to Heaven, pray for God to intercede;
“Stop the Devil Our Almighty, from His latest horrid deed”!
Is this “The Eve Of Destruction”, or can we survive this mass onslaught;
History promises us a victory, never having lost a battle we have fought!
.
.
We will win the fight
Beat the Coronavirus
But many will fall

Dear Rowland Paul Hill,

Wow!  Thanks for the pin.  To be compared to Dylan is the greatest compliment one could receive.  This "Rolling Stone" is elated.

Peace and love,

My Dear Gerard,

We are a tough bunch, us "mankind".
I am going to change the first word of a great Gloria Gaynor song to "We", and chant, "We Will Survive".

Peace and Love,

Dear Larry,

NYC is my hometown, and let me tell you... walking these streets are just not the same. It’s eerie, unsettling, and devastating. And what makes matters worse is... mother had tested positive for COVID-19.  This is a nightmare. Plain and simple.

Stay safe, my friend.

Love,
Lauren

Our Dearest Lauren,

Your Mother will be in our most ardent prayers, and hopefully, she will be in your arms again in a few weeks.  We have watched the news, and the medical staffs in your beloved city are incredible and you can be assured that she will receive the utmost care and nurturing.

We send our thoughts and love to surround you,

Such a good write for what we are facing today. Like the sectioned verses and the hope at the end. Thank you for sharing.
Stay safe people ??

My Dear Pratibha,

I guess that is all we have left, "hope", that eventually, we will defeat this monster, and get our lives back.
Thank you for your heartfelt comment.
Stay safe and healthy.

Peace and Love,
